Community Service Project
Part of a community bank is being part of...the community! At Charter Oak Bank, we are passionate about what makes our community better. We encourage our staff and customers to get involved, because a strong, healthy community is beneficial to everyone.
In the past, our employees have participated in the Christmas in April program, helping local residents with home repair projects. This year, in a similar spirit, we have been working on a community house project for a woman named Helen Lampley, who is 84 years old and lives on Mannering Street in Napa. Earlier this year, we asked one of our Directors, Joe Peatman of the Gasser Foundation, if he knew of anyone in the community that needed some help. Joe asked Jim Featherstone, assistant director of Napa County Health and Human Services at the City of Napa the same question and he referred Ms. Lampley to us. We put the call out to both our employees and customers and the response was tremendous! In a few short months, our staff and friends of Charter Oak Bank have rallied to help Helen and her son with many home repairs, including:
Gasser Foundation donated the new heater wall unit Bell Products, Inc. installed the new heater wall unit Bruce Tucker Construction, Inc. helped with the interior Precision Glass Systems, Inc. installed three new windows Acme Electric installed new electrical outlets and a phone jack Napco Painting Contractors, Inc. pressure washed the house, primed and painted the whole home as well as dumping some of the yard waste CSI Paint supplied the primer and paint McElroy Painting helped paint the house Charter Oak Bank coordinated the effort, cleaned up the yard, prepped and painted the house Many community members came out and volunteered their time as well. They were: Grace Gonzales, Louis Gonzales, Lori Glad, Julia Porter, Russ Eberwein, Andee Christle, and Matt Herter.
We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community in this small way, and are grateful for the participation of so many of our employees, friends and customers. This is what makes Napa the great community it is, and we encourage all individuals and businesses to pay it forward. |
